Companies and IT Access From Ghodbunder Road: Where You Can Work

Hiranandani Estate is the biggest office address on the road itself. It is home to TCS Olympus, one of Tata Consultancy Services' large Mumbai region campuses. Many of its staff live in the townships nearby and reach work in a few minutes.

In September 2026, Accenture signed a 10-year lease for about 2.72 lakh sq ft at Centaurus. The deal is worth about ₹269 crore and covers three full floors for 2,500 to 3,000 staff. Fit-outs are under way, and the office should open in November 2026. Business Standard called it one of the largest single office deals in Thane this year.

At the start of the road, Thane One IT Park at Kapurbawdi offers office space near the highway. Together, these hubs mean many people can now work in Thane without a long trip into Mumbai.

Wagle Estate began as an industrial area and has turned into one of Thane's main office districts. Ashar IT Park and many smaller IT, back-office and service firms work from here. Welspun One is also building World Trade Center Thane here, an ₹800 crore project. It will mix offices, shops and a large city distribution centre.

Kolshet Road, closer to Ghodbunder Road, hosts Lodha Supremus and other commercial towers. From most Ghodbunder Road townships, these areas take about 15 to 30 minutes by car outside peak hours.

Across the creek, the Thane-Belapur Road runs through one of the region's largest IT belts. Mindspace Airoli East alone spans about 50 acres, with around 6.8 million sq ft of leasable space. It is often called the largest business park in the Mumbai region.

From Ghodbunder Road, you reach Airoli through Thane city and across the Airoli bridge. The drive takes about 35 to 50 minutes on a normal weekday. Many IT staff in Airoli and Ghansoli choose Ghodbunder Road homes for their bigger size and green views. It also helps that the road links with the Eastern Express Highway, so the first part of the trip stays simple.

Powai remains one of the region's top tech and startup hubs, with many offices in Hiranandani Gardens. Vikhroli adds large corporate campuses along the Eastern Express Highway. Both sit within about 18 to 22 km of Ghodbunder Road.

BKC is the region's main finance and business district, about 25 km away. The drive can take 45 minutes to well over an hour, depending on traffic. Metro Line 4 should make this trip more predictable once it links with other metro lines.

Metro Line 4 will run along Ghodbunder Road to Wadala, with trials now on its first Thane stretch. MMRDA hopes to open that section around Diwali or by the end of 2026. Once the full line opens, it will link with other metro and rail lines. That should cut travel time to Powai and BKC.

The planned Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel will also open a fast link to the western suburbs. That matters if you work in Goregaon, Malad or Andheri, which host many IT and media firms. The state's plan to widen Ghodbunder Road should ease the daily jams too.

Office rents in Thane cost far less than in BKC or Lower Parel, and talent keeps growing. Many firms now run large hubs in the suburbs to stay closer to where their staff live. Accenture's Thane deal shows how strong this shift has become in 2026.

For you as a buyer or tenant, more jobs nearby mean shorter commutes and better rental demand. If you plan to rent out your flat, office growth in Thane widens your pool of good tenants. Homes close to large office hubs usually rent faster and hold their value better.

A home on this belt puts both Thane offices and Mumbai hubs within reach. Prestige Falcon City Thane, planned in Thane West, is one new project that suits this commute. As per the project data, Powai sits about 18 km away and BKC about 25 km.
